Paul R. Schmidt

Mr. Schmidt is a Shareholder of the firm whose practice concentrates on government contracting, administrative, regulatory, and environmental law. Mr. Schmidt, a trained geologist, utilizes his insight into environmental regulations and the regulatory process to help clients negotiate their way through the various local, state, and federal permitting programs and to defend enforcement actions. His administrative/regulatory law practice is focused on helping clients successfully interact with regulators from the various local, state and federal agencies and navigate their complicated licensing, permitting, and disciplinary procedures, as well as presenting their cases at agency hearings. He also represents government contractors in disputes with federal, state, and local government agencies, including bid protests and payment disputes.  He is a past Chairman of the Virginia Beach City Chesapeake Bay Board and serves as the Vice-Chair of Virginia’s Solid Waste Management Board. He has been repeatedly elected by his peers to be included in Virginia Business magazine’s Legal Elite in the category of Legislative/Environmental/Administrative Law, and holds a AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
