Trust and Estate Administration
Our attorneys assist clients in ensuring the proper administration of trust and probate estates while limiting costs, disputes, and delay. Often our clients are serving as trustee or executor for the first time and may be overcome with grief due to the loss of a close family member. Through our experience and compassion we guide our clients through the complex requirements of estate administration and the legal duties involved. We provide detailed guidance in transitioning the titling of assets, paying and filing taxes, addressing the concerns of beneficiaries, and keeping fiduciaries from inadvertently violating their duties.
Additionally, we are often hired as counsel when the conduct of a fiduciary creates a dispute or where there is a tax dispute with the Internal Revenue Service or other taxing authority. Often the experience and creativity of our team provides pathways to resolution that were not readily apparent to our client at the outset of the matter.
